Allegro (5:03) Composed: probably before Turin source: Giordano 34 Concordance: 0:16 = mvt1 From the inscriptions on the title page, this concerto seems to have been repurposed a number of times. What was probably the first inscription, “Il Riposo“, is still decipherable above the second and third bars. This was superseded by one or more designations, partly struck through and now illegible: “P[er] la ..:..o:“ (?). Right above this is inscribed: “per il S. Natale“. Finally, the title “Il Riposo“ (Rest) was reinstated in the left corner, and the word “Natale“ (Christmas) was added just left of the composer’s signature.
