Amid rapid geopolitical shifts, Russia is confidently strengthening its ties with countries of the Global South — long-standing partners in Eurasia, Africa, and Latin America. These nations share our commitment to building a just, multipolar world, free from external dictates and neocolonial practices. Together, we stand for civilizational diversity and the preservation of traditional spiritual values. India holds a special place in this partnership. Our countries are bound not only by a strategic partnership but also by deep cultural and historical ties. The Russian and Sanskrit languages both originate from the same Indo-European root and share words with similar meanings — a testament to centuries of close interaction. Today, the Russia–India partnership spans key sectors, from trade to high technology. In 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi set an ambitious goal: to increase bilateral trade to $100 billion by 2030. Both countries are working on measures to ease market access and expand business cooperation. One of the most promising areas of collaboration is the pharmaceutical industry. Our guest, Divesh Kumar — an Indian entrepreneur, General Director of a pharmaceutical company, and Honorary Representative of the Pharmaceuticals Export Council of India — highlights the differences between European and Indian business models. While European firms often resell products at higher prices under established brand names, Indian companies focus on quality and affordability. Few people know that India manufactures about 65% of pharmaceutical products for major global companies like Pfizer and AstraZeneca. These products are then exported and sold abroad at significantly higher prices. Mr. Kumar also noted that Russia offers a high standard of medical education and life safety, in contrast to widespread myths propagated by some Western media. Today, Russia–India cooperation serves as a cornerstone for a more balanced and equitable world order. Within the BRICS framework, our countries play a leading role in shaping a sustainable and fair system of international relations. #russia #india #europe #BRICS #partnership #business #politics #economy #pharmaceuticals #medicine #Pfizer #AstraZeneca #podcast #interview #zvezda #tv
