In today's multipolar world, it is impossible to imagine a global cultural landscape without China, one of the oldest and most influential civilizations. The Celestial Empire's culture, philosophy and historical experience have not only profoundly shaped the development of East Asia, but also have a powerful impact on international processes, from geopolitics to art. The harmonious combination of thousands of years of tradition and the latest technological achievements makes the country a unique cultural and intellectual phenomenon of our time. The history of many Chinese citizens' personal connection with Russia is truly remarkable. Shanzhong Jiang, an opera singer, associate professor, winner of international competitions, and teacher, shared his inspiring life path with us. His acquaintance with Russia began more than a quarter of a century ago - at a time when diplomatic and cultural ties between China and the USSR, interrupted for a short time, began to gradually recover. It was a special time: a historic moment of hope and discovery. For the first time in decades, Chinese students had the opportunity to learn Russian and come to Russia to study. It was during this period that a new wave of interstate cooperation was taking shape, based not only on politics, but also on a lively human interest in culture, art, and education. Young people, inspired by the changes, were eager to learn about the other world - and once in our country, they discovered not only professional horizons, but also deep spiritual and cultural meanings. This was Jiang's path, which began with his love of music and became a story of true cultural unity. After graduating from the vocal department in China and training in Shanghai, he decided to continue his musical education abroad. Russia, with its deep music and vocal tradition, was the obvious choice. Support from friends and the inspiring examples of those who had already tied their fate with our country reinforced his decision. As a result, he enrolled in a Russian conservatory, began his concert career - and stayed here to live, work and create.
