National-oriented politicians, parties, and movements are gaining popularity across Europe. Most of them advocate for abandoning Eurocentrism in favor of national interests, strengthening their countries’ independence and sovereignty. Recently, the Alternative for Germany (AfD) secured second place in the Bundestag elections. In France, the patriotic National Rally party continues to gain more supporters every year. In Slovakia, this political niche is occupied by the DOMOV party, which translates to “Homeland.“ The leader of DOMOV, Pavol Slota, is skeptical about Europe’s future. However, he sees great potential in Slovakia’s cooperation with BRICS and in fostering closer ties with Russia, the largest and most closely related Slavic nation. He discussed these topics and more in the latest episode of DTS podcast with Anna Shafran and Yuri Lindre.
