In 1978, fresh off a tour with the band Marty Conn took Terry Baker and Billy Greer into the studio to record a couple of songs he had written. This song “Cold Hearted Woman“ was one. A few months later a friend of Conn's entered the song in a contest sponsored by 96 WKLS Rock in Atlanta. It was so well received it was chosen as the 1st song on side A of that album which was titled “Hot-Lanta Home Cookin“. Over the course of more than a year the band which was named QB1 by Conn did many showcase gigs at the Agora Ballroom(Brawlroom!) and proceeded to be turned down by every major record band was close to packing up and heading home. It was at one of those Showcases that Steve Walsh approached Greer and told him he had quit Kansas and was putting together his own band. He offered Greer a chance to audition for the band. The rest ,as they say is history. Go to to read about the story in greater detail. Thanks to Missy Ross for creating and running that site as well as .
