“Regret,“ the second movement of my solo guitar work, Three Musings, is an extended tremolo. I've always felt tremolo was one of the guitar's most compelling and beautiful sounds and yet we have remarkably few pieces written in the technique. This one is based on rich, impressionistic harmonies but has lyrical, singable melodies. Written for a guitar with the 6th string tuned to F, it features unusual, sometimes surprising sonorities.
