“The whole purpose of true exercise is to awaken the inner source of energy which we have ignored throughout our lives.” —Paramhansa Yogananda The Energization Exercises, as taught in the Ananda Course in Self-Realization, are a wonderful system of exercises originated by Paramhansa Yogananda. They are, undoubtedly, his unique contribution to the science of yoga. Based on ancient teachings and eternal realities, Yogananda explains that the whole physical universe, including man, is surrounded by, and made of cosmic energy. We can, through the act of our will, release tension that blocks the energy flow to our body and mind, and draw on this infinite storehouse of life-force all around us. Through daily use of these exercises we can systematically recharge our bodies with greater energy and train our minds to understand the true source of that power. Yogananda arrived in America in 1920, and proceeded to travel throughout the United States on what he called his “spiritual campaigns.” Hundreds of thousands filled the largest halls in major American cities to see the yoga master from India. Yogananda continued to lecture and write up to his passing in 1952. Yogananda’s initial impact on the western culture was truly impressive. But his lasting spiritual legacy has been even greater. His *Autobiography of a Yogi* first published in 1946, helped launch a spiritual revolution in the West. Translated into more than a dozen languages, it remains a best-selling spiritual classic to this day. ___ ABOUT CRYSTAL CLARITY PUBLISHERS Crystal Clarity is the publishing house of Ananda Sangha Worldwide in the United States. Its mission is to help individuals expand in their awareness of the Divine, and to demonstrate practically how to apply spirituality to every facet of life: success, family, health, education, and more. Our offerings are based on the revolutionary teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda, author of the well-known spiritual classic, *Autobiography of a Yogi.* Our founder, Swami Kriyananda, strove to combine the highest insights of the East with the practical-mindedness of the West. What Does Crystal Clarity Mean? Crystal Clarity means to see oneself, and all things, as aspects of a greater reality; to seek to enter into conscious attunement with that reality; and to see all things as channels for the expression of that reality. It means to see truth in simplicity; to seek always to be guided by the simple truth, not by opinions; and by what is, not by one’s own desires or prejudices. It means striving to see things in relation to their broadest potential. In one’s association with other people, it means seeking always to include their realities in one’s own.
