Alright, let's talk about OST here as well. I really like how the uncanny value raises over time. It all started with a sense of epicness and drama (if those are synonyms plese excuse me), and it slowly decended into the madness as the time went on... I like it. But in IHX there's a different context for this. This palace seemingly has no end to it and Zero is still silent, we haven't hear from him in a while, so the raise of the overall freakiness actually makes the player feel like something really bad is going to happen pretty soon... Now most of the hallways will look like actual palace floors (with wierd floor patterns though) so personal paradises of the remaining Irregulars will become smaller aside from one. But I still think this is pretty much OK for them. At this point, I'm pretty fluent with using my Special Weapons too. You can see this in the first seconds of this stage. Fire Wave and Storm Tornado are the best weapons for me in this game. The first opponent is Icy Penguigo. Poor guy, I can feel his pain and incomprehension of what's going on in his weak “kuwa“... We need to put him at rest, so I do what I needed to do. I had problems with Shotgun Ice because I forgot the working pattern to dodge it. The next area features a lot of enemies so I can try to get some health back. Next is Sting Chameleao with really confused “ni-ni-ni?“. I feel bad for him too, he does not know what's going on and why he's alive right now. Luckily, I remember my tactic so this fight's a piece of cake. The next place is... factory area. I can grind those dying Repliroids for HP a little, hooray!.. Also, don't you think that giving a personal paradise for every Irregular aside from Penguigo and Chameleao is a bit jerky? What's up with this discrimination? Burnin' Noumander is last one on the least of refights with 8 main bosses, his battle cry sounds really weak now and as a boss, he's not that hard. I've started the journey through IHX from you, and I'm gonna end those refights with YOU! This is what I wanted to do with my X8 playthrough, actually, but I was dumb and lazy to replay the stage more than 3 times to get a climactic order. Noumander is defeated and now I can grind in a corridor with a lot of enemies. After this corridor, we... w... wait, is it Zero lying on the ground all beaten up? Oh, at least you haven't disintegrated into a thin air yeeeeeewait a second, VAVA should be just aroun-- yeah, just like that. VAVA manages to capture X with his upgraded Ride Armor and he plans to actually follow someone's (Sigma's) plan even though he's not that kind of person. Zero, however, raises for one last time, jumps on VAVA's Ride Armor and destroys it with a single shot of his buster. X just screams in pain after this and VAVA silently proceeds to face off against him. Honestly, IHX is my favorite version of this scene. It flows a lot better, but these versions are NOT interchangeable. IHX is its own beast entirely with its own ending. Even if I prefer the story's progression in IHX (minus The Day of Sigma), I can't ignore the original. The original gets referenced a lot often, of course, and it's the roots for everything that went after this. I need to remember and appreciate X1... and I still really do. Back on track. VAVA now has a lot more of powerful weapons with him (this will be explained in the second mode of the game), but I still manage to beat him without having a lot of problems (at least I can't remember having those problems). Eventually, he's defeated, X approaches dying Zero and picks his body up (Referencing manga, I think? That moment is actually one of the most memorable and famous ones out of it so it might really be). A new rendition of Variable X (remember that X and Zero's themes are interchangable too) starts to play as Zero says his last words and let's Irregular Hunter X go on his own to stop Sigma for the sake of this world... THIS IS actually what I like the most about the remake. This moment. And especually the fact Zero actually acknoledges X as THE Irregular Hunter who is the one who truly will be able to protect this world and keep it at peace, not any other person in it, at least for now. Zero turns off and X is left completely alone. All he needs to do now is to continue pushing forward until the very end that is nearing the hunter... D-REX in this game is actually a little hard, I even needed to use Sub-Tank if I remember correctly, but who am I to not be able to finish this stage? The game is almost over, why would I give up and not try my best?.. #MegaManMaverickHunterX #MMMHX #MegaManXRemake #X1Remake #IrregularHunterX #IHX #イレギュラーハンターX
