This is a WW2 era safety razor sharpener. I have never in my live seen something so cool. This is WW2 era made in Germany, shipped from Bulgaria. Restoration Process The first step in any restoration is evaluation, then I disassembled and cleaned each individual piece. After evaluating each piece, I decided that everything would have to be blasted and that simply polishing some items would not get the result I wanted. I decided to use a glass beed media to clean off the parts. Unfortunately the footage of this was lost and is not present in the video. Paint or powder coat would not work on this item due to the hinge system on the rear that was almost impossible to disassemble. I decided to use a low friction extremely durable ceramic coating. This would allow me to coat all the moving parts and also leave behind the worn engravings. I knew the handle would be a challenge because it was the only part that would have to be made from scratch, it was also pressed on. I decided to replace the bakelite handle with a wooded one. I then secured it with a rivet.
