After his fantastic work reconstructing the inner sanctum of the Great Sphinx of Egypt, I asked Kevin Eslinger of the @ESLINGERART channel, a fantastic 3D artist and ancient history enthusiast, to see if he could add a roof to the main enclosure of Karahan Tepe. I have long believed that the large central pillars and the pillars around the perimeter of the 11,500-year-old enclosure were there primarily to support a roof, and Kevin's experimental work to reconstruct its framework has blown me away. Kevin has a very detailed and logical approach with his work, and in this video, the first of two parts, I want to show you what he has achieved so far, because adding a roof to enclosure AD really transforms the site. With digital 3D reconstruction, I do believe that some of the mysteries of Karahan Tepe can be solved, and finally understood.
