Hearing the deep rumble of an American built V8 down the straight at Tsukuba Circuit is something you don’t get to experience too often. It’s not completely unheard of, there are a few Corvettes that frequent Tsukuba that are owned by drivers here. Shigeto Nagashima’s 600 hp, NA Z06 that is tuned by Advance Auto, consistently runs in the 57 second range. There is also Takayuki Matsumoto, usually seen in his matte pink RWB 993 ’Phoenix’, who sometimes subs in his Chevy Service Miki tuned C6. With all that being said, Tsukuba has never seen American muscle quite like this. After WTAC, Feras shipped his 1300 hp, twin turbo Corvette straight to Japan, where it now resides at Under Suzuki’s shop near Sagamihara. Over the past few weeks, Feras, supported by the friendly guys at Hoosier, have been working out the intricacies of Tsukuba’s TC2000 circuit and dialing in the car more and more with each event. After his third outing, he successfully put himself in the top ten fastest tuning car times at the track – 9th overall with a . Even Under had a drive in the Z06, albeit on the lowest power setting, and had a lot of positive feedback and feeling to pass on to the team. We caught up with them at the most recent Unlimited Works track day last week to get a closer look at the Corvette.
