Best known as a chef, food writer and influencer, Anna Barnett’s first priority when renovating her new(ish) east London terrace was, of course, the kitchen. When she moved it upstairs from its previous home in the sunken basement, she gave it prime position across the whole ground floor and filled it with plenty of Italian marble (an almost-too-big Rosso Verona dining table betrays a love of hosting) and crockery collected from her travels. There’s an overwhelming serenity that infuses the whole house, a clean canvas on which Anna can get creative with cool, gold-toned plastered walls and smooth, curved lines. This calmness continues in the paired-back office space that Anna has installed under the stairs on the first floor with a desk made from the marble cut-out from the bath (an example of how she hates waste, picked up from her years as a cook).
