Sunspot AR3738 is getting really big. Images by SDO solar spacecraft show how it has grown in the past 5 days. Now almost ten times wider than Earth, the sunspot group is directly facing our planet with a 'beta-gamma' magnetic field that harbors energy for geoeffective solar flares. Today so far, the active region has produced five M-class flares and will remain a threat for an Earth directed X-Flare. All other regions have been for the most part stable. #largesunspot #solarflare #CME Images credit: AIA/SDO/HMI. nemesis maturity channel, Music credit: YouTube Audio Library The Charmer's Call - Hanu Dixit
