“Punk is not a style of music. It's more a state of mind.“ -Mike Watt (fIREHOSE, Minutemen) In many ways, music made with modular synthesizers and punk rock come from a very similar mentality. Here's a few examples of where these two artforms meet: 1. Beginners are welcome--you don't need to be a virtuoso to feel included 2. The LGBTQIA community is alive and well 3. DIY aesthetic 4. To a certain extent, we are outsiders and proud of it This is why this edition of Patch-On is so special. Modular (and hybrid) artists are coming together to showcase *their version* of punk rock. There will be no genre police on this show. If you're new to the show, we are modular-centric, but not exclusive. You will see eurorack modular synthesizers, buchla, serge, ciat lonbarde, hybrid systems, midi controllers, computers, drum machines, acoustic instruments, analog and digital synthesizers, voice and so much more. This global community is about making music and maintaining a patient and helpful SAFE SPACE for all. Welcome
