The 1,600mt Huisman Leg Encircling Crane onboard Van Oord’s offshore installation vessel “Aeolus“ was recently successfully taken into service. The vessel was overhauled by a consortium of Dutch companies (Damen, Mammoet and Huisman) to allow the installation of a new crane, the biggest Leg Encircling Crane ever built. This 1,600mt crane will enable Van Oord to install bigger and heavier foundations and turbines for offshore wind farms.
