Scanning has always played a big part in my love/hate relationship with the shooting film process and to be honest the Epson V600 really didn't do much to help the situation. The clunky software and the slow going always put me off scanning and more often that not I ended up with a scanning backlog. But recently I started photographing (or DSLR scanning) my negatives with the aid of a light pad and have been really happy with the results. Here is a quick look at my workflow as I scan a black and white negative from my Mamiya RB67. Not only do the negatives look good, but by tethering to Lightroom the workflow is quick and simple. Add in the Negative Lab Pro plugin and what's not to love.
