I'm doing a live comedy show with Francis Foster in London on August 30th: I understand that rioting is treated more harshly than other incidents, but some of the sentences rushed through in Keir's 24 hour courts are ludicrous: -A gay couple were jailed for more than two years each after walking into the riots after a day at the bingo. Are you telling me the EDL go to bingo now? -Another man was jailed for shouting at a police dog. -And another man was jailed for sharing factually accurate, if slightly cringey, memes. -A judge cited the “anti-establishment rhetoric“ of another man's social media posts. -And another judge said he’d lock people up even if they were just observing the riots. Most worryingly, a Sky reporter raised the issue of Asian prison gangs targeting the “far right“. So some old guy who's been sent down for sharing boomerish memes is labelled a “far right thug“ who attacks mosques by Keir - then gets locked up with these gangs? Sounds like a death sentence. And of course, Hope Not Hate's Nick Lowles escaped arrest for his genuinely dangerous claim that white men were throwing acid at Muslim women. Twitter: Paypal:
