I explored the markets, tried local foods, and ordered in pubs, all in the ancient Welsh language. Welsh was actually suppressed for many years and so most people in the country of Wales which is part of the United Kingdom do not actually speak it very well, but quite a few do and there’s been a revival movement to bring it back with street signs all over Wales in the language, so I thought it might be fun to see what locals would think of an American tourist speaking their ancestral language! 0:00 Introduction 0:30 Sponsored by Raycon 1:46 “Are you speaking Welsh?“ 2:22 “Your Welsh is so good!“ 4:50 Meeting a fan who speaks Welsh 6:08 Buying cake in Wales in Welsh – they are shocked 7:15 “We Welsh don't speak Welsh“ 8:08 Haggling in Welsh 9:07 Getting free stuff when I speak Welsh 10:15 Speaking Mandarin outside of a castle 10:37 Ordering a beer in Welsh, boss is shocked 11:26 Looking for bara brith (Welsh tea bread) 14:00 Meeting a Welsh teacher on the street 15:32 “How long have you been learning“ 16:21 Trying bara brith for the first time LEARN A FOREIGN LANGUAGE WITH MY METHOD! ✉️ Join my newsletter and discover how I pick up new languages quickly (and learn how you can do the same): 👉🏼 📚 Check out my Street-Smart Language courses: 👉🏼 Subscribe to my channel: Follow me on Instagram: Follow me on Facebook: If you guys like the music in my videos, you can check out all the AMAZING music Epidemic Sound has at my affiliate link here:
