The fear now is the homeless drug addicts are going to Richmond B. C. On February 13, 2024, Richmond City Council voted 7 to 2 to consider a Safe Drug Consumption Site at the Richmond General Hospital. Residents of Richmond are upset that Richmond will become like Vancouver's Chinatown and the Downtown Eastside, where homelessness and drug use is rampant. Citizens in Richmond are concerned about the future of their city. They fear Richmond will become overrun with homeless people. We hear some of the speakers at a Richmond City Council meeting.
