That's exactly what happened on March 1, 2024, near the town of Montfoort in the Dutch province of Utrecht. During construction work on the Korte Linschoten River, workers made an astonishing discovery. An iron blade was sticking out from a clod of clay pulled from the riverbed. Recognizing the significance of the find, the contractor immediately reported it to the Montfoort municipal authorities.
