Japan has performed the third wastewater dump at the Fukushima nuclear power plant. The first and the second dumps were greatly concerning for experts in neighbouring countries. No research on the safety of this procedure has been done. The scientists are only guessing about the consequences. By March 2024, 31.5 thousand tonnes of radioactive wastewater from the Fukushima-1 NPP will be released into the Pacific ocean. The reservoirs will be emptied out only by 2051.
