This is the very first time I saw this icon in real life and I have to admit it blew my mind. Maybe it's just that engine sound, maybe for its dimensions and shapes but I finally understood why it's considered one of the most beautiful car ever made. The first prototype was shown to the public in 1967 during the Italian F1 GP in Monza and the plan was to built a little limited series of 50 examples. But only 18 were built and possibly only 10 of them are still in existence. It's also one of the few road-legal cars to be created after the racing version featuring all the mechanical and technological characteristics of Alfa's experience on the track. Based on the successful Alfa Romeo Tipo 33/2, the body of the Stradale (which means “road legal“ in Italian) was designed by Franco Scaglione. Compared to the race car the chassis was made in aluminuim and elongated a bit, plus the engine was depowered. This is a V8 engine with 230 hp with an insane 10,000 rpm red line that was able to push the 700 kg car from 0 to 100 Km/h in just 5,5 seconds and hit a top speed of 270 km/h. The car was launched on the market at an astronomical sum of almost 10 million Italian lire of the period (for a mere comparison you needed around 5 millions to buy a Jaguard and 6 for a Ferrari). Watch a few detailed shots of this beauty I saw during the 2018 Concorso d'Eleganza of Villa d'Este in Cernobbio and hear the great sound of the V8 engine doing a loud warm up and driving! #AlfaRomeo33Stradale #33Stradale #Alfa33Stradale ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -- Subscribe to my 2nd channel here: You can also find and follow me on: - Flickr: - Facebook: - Instagram: Camcorder: Canon Legria HF G40 Canon DM-100 Microphone Event: Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este 2018 Where: Cernobbio, Italy Link To My Channel: THANKS FOR WATCHING AND SUBSCRIBE!!!
