In this video, we explore how endocannabinoids anandamide and 2-AG, as well as the phytocannabinoid THC, interact with the cannabinoid 1 receptor (CB1). CB1 is one of the most highly expressed GPCR receptors in the brain. Structures of all three ligands were compared and overlaid, and then a docking experiment was carried out using our plugin for molecular docking, which is integrated with AutoDock Smina. Thank you to our collaborators Asher Brandt, Molecular Pharmacologist at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada, and Oleg Maryaces, Director of Education at Lock & Key Remedies, Brooklyn, NY.
