Here I am walking in the city of Essen, Germany, during pre-Christmas season in 2021 from the main station to the Kennedyplatz, where the international Christmas Market is located. Enjoy Christmas decorations in the shopping streets during this walk, and many handmade goods & food stalls. With around 170 stalls, Essen has one of the greatest Christmas markets in Germany and has won several awards for its diversity and beauty. Spread throughout the city centre, the huts stand under a sea of twinkling lights - an atmosphere that makes a visit contemplative and dreamlike. Essen, often called the shopping city of Germany, is geographically part of the Rhineland and the larger Rhine-Ruhr Metropolitan Region. It is decidedly gaining ground in importance and denotation as an attractive city in Germany.
