Visit Visit our website This film “It Takes a Man!“ was produced by the Franciscans with the intent of inspiring young boys to consider a religious vocation and show them what becoming a priest in the Catholic Church look like. At the end of the film it encourages interested male viewers to reach out to St. Anthony’s Seminary in Santa Barbara, California or St. Francis Seminary in Troutdale, Oregon. This film was directed by William de Diego. The director of dramatics was Vic Perrin. The cinematography was done by William de Diego. The Musical Supervisor was Martin L. Klein. The film features Paul Engle, Paul Picerni, Peggy Webber, Patrick McGeehan, Jeanne Bates, and other Seminarians. St. Anthony’s operated as a seminary by Franciscan friars from 1896 to 1987, and then became a school. This motivational film opens with a scene of a boy sitting alone at dinner table (0:18).
