Now that we have the EVAP fault fixed lets dig into the VVT issues we are having. The PCM is setting a p0014 and P0017. The are cam timing codes and Camshaft sensor performance codes. The performance code is only because the PCM doesn't understand the data its receiving from the CMP sensor at times. We need to diagnose the root cause of this code. Looking at the data it seem like the VVT solenoid is sticking at times. Some of these tests can be performed with a basic scan tool and some require a lap scope to verify the actual signal. After confirming that our signal is good from the PCM we can make the conclusion that the solenoid is at fault. Now we just have to swap the solenoid out with a quality replacement.
