Risa Taniguchi is a Tokyo-based artist who has released on Second State, Kneaded Pains, Suara and more. Black Asteroid, aka Bryan Black, a former engineer for Prince, has appeared on CLR, Mute, Electric Deluxe, Kompakt and others and has soundtracked runway shows and collaborated with Rick Owens and Raf Simons. Teaming up for the first time together on Chris Liebing’s CLR label, the duo deliver three gritty, hard-hitting techno tracks. Leading the release, ‘Acid Flesh’ brings squelching basslines, sizzling percussion, and airy vocal samples together for a rocking peak time track. ‘Compulsion’ brings dense atmospherics, propulsive low-end, and snappy snares for a tense and building affair before ‘Gunk’ closes the release with twisted, high-impact synths and sub-rattling drums combining for pure club pandemonium.
