Talk’s Kevin O’Sullivan is joined by former political editor at The Sun, Trevor Kavanagh, to discuss mounting pressure for the Government to U-turn on means testing winter fuel payments. Under the plans announced by Chancellor Rachel Reeves in July, winter fuel payments will be restricted to those receiving pension credit, meaning around 10 million pensioners will lose out this winter. Sir Keir Starmer could face a rebellion from within his party when the Commons votes on Tuesday. Trevor says “a lot of Labour MPs are horrified” by the plans, thinking it’s an “act of betrayal” to pensioners.
