1920s Dance Moves - Part 1! Hi, I’m Fiona the co-founder of MyCharleston and here are just some classic 1920s dance moves and Charleston step variations for you to try! Charleston Kicks - Kick from the knee rather than the hip and swing the legs across the body. Charleston Side to Side - This is a great trick move to add height to your dancing. Use the arms to give the illusion of enlarging the step. 1920s Charleston - the foundation of the genre and can be stylised with a… ..Helicopter - The back leg needs to ‘swoosh’ and make a large circle. It’s about creating the illusion of a propeller. Scarecrow - similar to your Charleston Kicks, you need to kick across the body rather than in front and add staccato arms to make the ‘Scarecrow shape’. And of course a flapper girl pose to finish! Which is your favourite move?
