Grey cylinder of red piston controls the fixture via gear rack drives. Thanks to a differential rack gear drive (violet gear, pink and green racks) the clamping stepped shaft (in brown) can be realized at two different diameters. It is a combination of two mechanisms shown in: and The mechanism has found application for manipulators.
