The Chronicles of Narnia is one of those franchises that was always on the brink of becoming a huge hit but never quite took off like other franchises at the time. The first movie in the series was a big success, but the two sequels didn’t manage to get close to the response the first film had. This all culminated in the 3rd movie being the final in the film series, even though there were more books to adapt and more stories to be told. So I want to examine the last film in the series, Voyage of the Dawn Treader, to understand how it killed such a promising franchise, and where it all went wrong.
