Orphan season has started very early for us as we have received some Little Red orphans into care. We rarely have the privilege of raising Red babies as this species generally winters and gives birth in far north Queensland. Sadly, this year hasn't gone to plan and there has been a terrible situation in central Queensland where many tiny babies have been left in the trees to die. Thanks to dedicated local carers who have been out every day bringing in the injured orphans, many lives have been saved. Miss Blossom is now safely in care with other Little Red orphans and she is growing, flapping, chatting and enthralling her new mum.
