Habsburg Hoch (Habsburg High) is a march of Johann Strauss II. The work was completed on the 27th December 1882 and performed for the first time at the Carltheater in Vienna. The march was created against the background of the 600th anniversary of the House of Habsburg. On this occasion, on the 27th December 1882 a Habsburg celebration took place in the Carltheater, at which Johann Strauss presented his new march together with a military band. The March is a compilation of motifs from the Austrian imperial anthem of Joseph Haydn, the Prince Eugene March and the Radetzky March by his father. Pictured: Emperor Franz Joseph
