All aboard! Come along as we take a look at Amtrak's Dash-8 locomotives in action! The P32-BWH, or “Dash-8“ locomotives were built in 1991 by General Electric. They were essentially freight locomotives that were geared to run at passenger train speeds and equipped to provide electricity to the passenger cars. Today, these locomotives are primarily used as yard switchers and trailing units on some long distance Amtrak trains, but you can occasionally see them leading passenger trains still. This video takes a look at several of these locomotives in action in the western United States. CoasterFan2105 is home to train videos for everyone!
