#americanenglish #phonetics #английский #englishphonetics Hey I’m Alex, and welcome Day 2 of my 30-day American Phonetic Challenge where I’m taking different sounds and using them in tongue twisters which I created specifically for this event. Today’s sound is /æ/, usually given by the letter A in a closed syllable (as in fat, cat, sad or rap), but also by such letter combinations as AI (as in plaid) and AU (as in laugh). Let’s practice it! 1. The fat black cat is sad a tad. 2. That lad had a dad. 3. I grabbed the hat and sat with the map to master all that. 4. She’d rather laugh at the mad bat trapped in the mat.
