All legitimate authority comes from God, and must be respected. Legitimate authority is actually linked to God’s Fatherhood. Yet, Traditional Catholics must sometimes “disobey“ the legitimate authorities in order to obey the higher principles of the Catholic Faith. It is necessary to find a virtuous balance of respect for legitimate authority and respectfully refusing unjust uses of that authority.
