HOPE AMIDST THE ASHES - MIRACLE IN THE PALISADES - A world-renowned meditation garden, the SRF Lake Shrine (founded by the great yoga master, Paramahansa Yogananda), miraculously survives the devastating Palisades Fire, thanks to the prayers of thousands and the bravery of a few. As we pray for those who’ve lost their homes, we are profoundly grateful for the preservation of this beautiful haven of peace for people of all religions. It will be so precious for us all in the difficult days ahead. THE CHANT - “God, Krishna, Christ, Gurus“ - LYRICS: God, Krishna, Christ, Gurus. I surrender to Thee. Make me worthy of Thy love. TRANSCRIPT: Hope Amidst the Ashes - the miraculous survival of a haven of peace, heartbreaking devastation, thousands left homeless, an entire region in flames. We are tempted to despair. Heroic efforts were made. One beacon of hope survived. A beloved shrine to World beckons as a haven for the grieving, and a symbol of human harmony in devotion to God, where the world’s great spiritual traditions are where we can perhaps begin anew. Where we can bring our children in happier days to come, inspired by the great Apostle of Peace, Mahatma Gandhi, whose ashes lie enshrined in this sacred garden. Entrusted to the great world teacher, Paramahansa Yogananda, the friend of Gandhi, who created this haven of peace as a Church of All Religions, and came here the day before his passing for a last supper with his disciples. Lovingly preserved by Self-Realization Fellowship, and graced by the presence of saintly souls and God-seekers for the last 75 years. “I dedicate this Church of All Religions, that people may come to know the Fatherhood of One God, and see in Him the common parenthood of all peoples, that we may all live as brothers and bring peace and prosperity to the Earth.“ The Lake Shrine was saved from the fires by the power of prayer. Despair was defeated by by the courage of those who fought to save it. When we walk these sacred grounds, may we remember and bless them. And may we remember the great soul who made it all possible, the incarnation of Divine Love whose incorruptible form bears testimony to his immortal who will live forever in our hearts.
