I'm in love with my Chase Bliss Audio BLOOPER again. It is an incredible ambient looping tool that can be used as a super advanced Frippertronics. When we think about Frippertronics we usually mean a looping device with feedback and tonal degradation control that mimics original tape-to-tape recording. However the BLOOPER's DIP SWITCHES give us some additional mind-blowing options for random alteration of selected parameters. My favorite settings for now are as follows: 4,5 seconds loop in overdubing state (so called Delay-style) REPEATS to 11-13 o'clock MOD A: FILTER to 9 o'clock MOD B: STEPPED SPEED - try any value (including before 12 o'clock for reversed pitched loops) STABILITY: 10-12 o'clock NORM switch position (if ADD is chosen reduce REPEATS to 9-10 o'clock) DIP SWITCHES: MOD A, MOD B, BOUNCE, RANDOM, SWEEP,SYNC RAMP: 13 o'clock and higher After the BLOOPER I send the audio signal to the STRYMON VOLANTE delay. You can try any settings but I recommend using long delay time, good amount of MECHANICS and WEAR to enhance “tape effect“. Add some reverb at the end of the chain for taste.
