This video concept started as a joke between me and Yogev Gabay during Thanksgiving break as something that would be crazy to do as a duet. That joke slowly became an idea that turned into a monumental challenge. But we were committed to making it happen no matter what. This duet is a drum interpretation of an Indian Konnakol piece by Karnataka College of Percussion in Bangalore, India. For those that have no idea what Indian Konnakol is, to sum it up, it is a traditional vocal rhythmic system used in Southern India that has been used for centuries as a teaching tool as well as its own standing vocal percussion instrument. Drummers: Cain Daniel and Yogev Gabay Recording Engineer: Tuan Lin Leonardo Do Mixing Engineer: Christian King Video Editing: Leonardo Bescotti Recorded at the Berklee College of Music Studios Special Thanks to Noam Israeli, Yoel Genin, and Ron Cohen for all your help in making this a possibility If you would like a transcription of this piece, please do not hesitate to find us on Facebook or on our websites and we’ll be happy to give it to you!
