Logan Cipala (Ellsworth, WI) swept the opening round of the IRC Motoclimb Super Series, at the Brick Mine hill in Walhalla, North Dakota. The Eagle Ridge Motorcycle Club set up some tough courses on this steep and loose 750 foot hill, with about half the field not even making it over the top. Cipala, the 2019 IRC MSS Champion, came into this new season swinging, finishing 1-1 in the 450 Main on his Gas Gas MC450 and the Open Class on his Buell 1190 HCR. Both machines were running IRC M5B EVO rear tires. He also won the 450 Qualifier and non-points 700cc Class earlier in the day, completing a clean sweep of the event. 2018 IRC MSS Champion Logan Mead (Concord, CA) was close behind, finishing 2-2 in the series points classes, aboard his KTM 450 SX-F and KTM 1290. Harold Waddell (Crescent, IA) finished 3-6 in the points classes aboard his Honda CRF 450R and Suzuki GSXR 1340. The series continues next Saturday at the Wiseco Shootout in Bay City, WI.
