Welcome to my channel! This is Andy from I love languages. Let's learn different languages/dialects together. Hungarian is a Uralic language of the proposed Ugric branch spoken in Hungary and parts of several neighbouring countries. It is the official language of Hungary and one of the 24 official languages of the European Union. Outside Hungary, it is also spoken by Hungarian communities in southern Slovakia, western Ukraine (Transcarpathia), central and western Romania (Transylvania), northern Serbia (Vojvodina), northern Croatia, northeastern Slovenia (Prekmurje), and eastern Austria (Burgenland). It is also spoken by Hungarian diaspora communities worldwide. With 14 million speakers, it is the Uralic family's largest member by number of speakers. Nenets comprises two languages, Tundra Nenets and Forest Nenets, spoken in northern Russia. Tundra Nenets, with 30,000 to 40,000 speakers, spans from the Kanin Peninsula to the Yenisei River, while Forest Nenets has 1,000 to 1,500 speakers naear the Agan, Pur, Lyamin, and Nadym rivers. Both are Uralic languages, distantly related to Finnish, Estonian, and Hungarian, and influenced by Russian. Tundra Nenets has had a well-documented literary tradition since the 1930s, but Forest Nenets, first written in the 1990s, is less documented. This video is created for educational, language awareness, and language preservation purposes. It aims to provide valuable insights and knowledge to viewers, enhancing their understanding and appreciation of different languages and their unique characteristics. By raising awareness about linguistic diversity, the video seeks to foster a greater respect and recognition for various languages, particularly those that are endangered or underrepresented. Additionally, it contributes to the preservation of languages by documenting and sharing linguistic knowledge, thus ensuring that these languages and their cultural heritage are not lost to future generations.
