Catastrophes are here and now. Global warming is not far off. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- GERMANY IN RUINS! Nature is angry at almost the whole country. A severe storm with heavy rain and hail hit many parts of Germany. North Rhine-Westphalia, Lower Saxony, and Bavaria were particularly affected. And even Baden-Württemberg, where the river overflowed its banks at Bruchsal. At times the water level reached meters and flooded the old town of the Heidelsheim region. A violent hail storm raged, raining hailstones from the sky. The hailstones in some places were the size of golf balls in Duisburg. Due to strong winds, the siding of buildings collapsed and and even the windows were broken. The storm was accompanied by heavy rain, flooding both streets and residential buildings. It was the private property of residents, both agricultural and garden plots, that suffered the most. Cars were also damaged by hail, and sometimes even flooded. Flooding also occurred in the city of Bruchsal, for example in underground passages. But it was the city of Karlsruhe that suffered the most, where even cars were drowning in the streets. The hail storm raged even at night, preventing local residents from resting peacefully. Periodically it stopped altogether, but after a couple of hours it resumed. Authorities warned residents to avoid visiting open areas and low-lying areas. In Bavaria, a Eurocity train near Bad Endorf collided with a tree that had fallen on the track and stopped. According to the federal police, there were no injuries. The storm caused power outages due to downed poles and broken power lines. More than ten thousand Germans experienced periodic blackouts. There were also disruptions to rail traffic in the Ammerland district of Lower Saxony. The flooding also led to hundreds of evacuations to safety. This is one of the worst storms that hit most of the country. The precipitation was especially heavy, in some places even in the form of hail. Therefore, local authorities are doing their best to eliminate the consequences. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- The channel lists such natural disasters as: 1) Geological emergencies: Earthquake, volcanic eruption, mudflow, landslide, landfall, avalanche; 2) Hydrological emergencies: Flood, Tsunami, Limnological catastrophe, floods, flooding; 3) Fires: Forest fire, Peat fire, Glass Fire, Wildfire; 4) Meteorological emergencies: Tornado, Cyclone, Blizzard, Hail, Drought, Hail, Hurricane, Storm, Thunderstorm, typhoon, Tempest, Lightning.
