The Rosatom expedition “Icebreaker of Knowledge” has returned to Murmansk from the North Pole. To mark Russia’s National Flag Day, participants from 15 countries unfurled a large Russian tricolor flag on board the icebreaker. Here’s what we know about the expedition: • For the first time, the expedition was conducted in an international format. A team of talented schoolchildren from Russia and countries where Rosatom is involved in nuclear technology projects journeyed to the North Pole and back aboard the icebreaker “50 Let Pobedy” (50 Years of Victory). • Rosatom and the Russian Society “Znanie” (Knowledge) held the northernmost lecture hall ever: scientists and science communicators gave talks both on board the icebreaker and at the North Pole. • The leader of the first continental expedition “Russia. 360” conducted test trials of the domestic cross-country ATV ‘Lynx’ at the North Pole. • The icebreaker also hosted a screening of the film “One Hundred Years Ago,” presented by Mark E...
