Most of the latest Ubuntu distros ( as at video date) have default settings that refuse to install if your computer has an older non PAE chip (eg: Pentium M, Celeron, VIA). You can install using the boot ISO method, but this method is MUCH simpler, as all you need is the normal Ubuntu boot disc! I am installing Lubuntu here on the HP 1100 Tablet PC from prehistoric times - 1 GHz, 512MB of ram.
