In this essay I talk about how if there was a God he would deserve our contempt and not our love. I also discuss the idea of evil as lack of good or as a negation (Plotinus, Irenaeus, Pelagius, Augustine) and evil as a constitutive aspect of reality (Marcionism, Gnosticism, Schopenhauer, Cioran).
