Chicago L all the lines compilation

The Chicago “L“ is one of the oldest metro systems in the world. The downtown loop first started operations in 1892 with a steam locomotive pulling wooden coaches. It has had much renovation and expansion since then and is currently renovating various parts of the system to make it more efficient. The majority of the system is above ground whether that be elevated or at-grade. There are 4 different types of trains running on the lines with the newest being the series 7000 from CRRC. The livery is blue at the cabs for the new trains but the rest are mainly silver and grey with the CTA logo and a display of the direction in which the train is going on the side. Headways are good for US standards with there being a train every 5-10 minutes at peak hours. The system has 8 lines with only the yellow line not passing through downtown. The fare per person per ride is $ which is normal for the US. I think the “L“ serves Chicago quite well although a connection between all the branches on the outskirts of the system would serve it very well. The views you get of Chicago from riding the “L“ are quite pleasant and make the ride a lot more interesting. I would recommend it to anyone in Chicago as it is reliable and much cheaper than any other alternative.
