Artist: Godflesh Song: Straight To Your Heart Album: Loopflesh/Fleshloop single 7“ split (with Loop) Year: 1991 Track #: 2 of 2 This is a highly elusive recording of British groups Godflesh's and Loop's 7“ single split released on Clawfist Records back in May 1991 as apart of the “Clawfist Singles Club“. The interesting thing about this split is that it's one of those “I'll cover a song from your band, you cover a song from my band“ releases, which always prove interesting to hear two bands, with completely different musical styles, to reinterpret a popular song from one another. The two songs covered are from the albums “Streetcleaner“ (“Like Rats“) and “Heaven's End“ (“Straight To Your Heart“). While there is no official title for this split single, it's always been dubbed by the names which appear on the single's sleeve, “Loopflesh“ and/or “Fleshloop“, which if you don't know are the band names combined respectively. This single was limited to 1400 copies when released. The vinyl sticker read on both sides “Rats live on no evil star (& backwards.)“
