The 2026 Mercedes GLE 53 Hybrid will use a inline-six and an electric motor to produce a combined output of 536 hp. Mercedes-AMG introduced the facelifted GLE 53 earlier this year and now the company has announced a new plug-in hybrid variant. Set to arrive at U.S. dealerships in 2025, the 2026 Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Hybrid will be offered as a traditional crossover as well as a sporty crossover coupe. While that’s not surprising, the model will have a plug-in hybrid powertrain that consists of a 443 hp inline-six, a 134 hp electric motor, and a 31.2 kWh battery pack. This setup will give the crossover a combined output of 536 hp and 749 Nm of torque. That’s enough to enable the GLE 53 Hybrid to accelerate from 0-96 km/h in 4.6 seconds and hit an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.
