Howdy ya’ll. Welcome back. Today we will take an astounding walk through Scottish, Irish, and British history. We will browse through what are considered to be some of the earliest photographs taken by the first major photographer to arise out of Scotland. His name was George Washington Wilson, and he was born in Banffshire, Scotland in 1823. His rapid rise to infamy culminated in Wilson being hired as the official photographer for the British Royalty. Eventually this progressed into Wilson documenting the castles, fortifications, and largest cities of the empire and beyond. His collection today amounts to roughly 75 images captured between the years of 1860 and 1870, with a focus on Scotland, Ireland and Great Britain. Topics discussed today:
