“You, Maslenitsa*!“ - is a Soviet animated cartoon released in 1985. Directed by Robert Sahakyants. Shows the story of greediness and cunning, and tells about a boy punishing a greedy rich man. The movie is based on Hovhannes Tumanyan’s fairy tale “Barekendan“. * is an Easten Slavic religious and folk holiday which has retained a number of elements of Slavic mythology in its ritual. It is celebrated during the last week before Great Lent. Pancakes and butter are made all over the places as the traditional part of Maslenitsa holiday.
